Reviews for this vintage: 2005

By Harvey Steiman

Langhorne Creek is a lesser known region south of McLaren Vale that has a reputation for producing warm, generous reds. Silky, supple and generous, this big mouthful of sweet plum, currant and creamy vanilla flavors lingers nicely on the long, well-formed finish. Drink now through 2015. 925 cases made.

"Inky purple. Brooding boysenberry

By Joe Czerwinski

Like all of the 2006 Garden offerings from Two Hands, this one is full-bodied, creamy and makes a slightly sweet impression on the palate because of its combination of high alcohol (15.2%) and superripe fruit. Cedary, spicy oak accents raspberry and cassis flavors, which persist on the long finish. Drinknow-2011.

Brash and bold. A juicy mouthful of molasses-accented plum and blackberry fruit that feels fresher than most Langhorne Creek Shiraz, hovering beautifully over the deft finish. Drink now through 2014.

By Anthony Dias Blue

Edgy, plummy and toast with cherry notes and racy, juicy acidity; tight, dense and long.

From Langhorne Creek, the 2004 Shiraz Harry & Edwards Garden exhibits an explosive perfume of melted road tar, camphor, blackberries, and cassis. It builds incrementally in the mouth, revealing layers of richness, full body, and silky tannin. Drink it over the next 10-12 years."
