Opaque with bright red rim. A concentration of deep, ripe fruit flavors. A subtle blueberry character is evidents along with hints of cinnamon spice. This wine displays a magnificent full palate and wonderful length without being overly powerful. A full-mouth feel is complimented by a dark chocolate finish.

Production Notes: Guardian Peak Wines, created by South African wine visionary Jean Engelbrecht and golf legend Ernie Els, are a series of red wines accessible in both style and price. The "Lapa" Cabernet Sauvignon is an intense and powerful wine with a huge body and structure. Broad-shouldered but still sleek, with the cedar and cocoa notes well-integrated into the dark currant, raspberry and toast notes, followed by a long, broad finish. Should age well.

Big, rich, polished version, with lots of fig and black currant fruit pushed by suave mesquite-tinged toast. Long, dark licorice-filled finish. Drink now through 2012.
