Sangiovese
This grape swaps stories more than a politician in a sex scandal. It's a Tuscan ambassador that has the potential to make the wines of this region of Italy rank amongst some of the world's greatest (e.g. Brunello di Montalcino). Much of the quality depends on the clone selection, the climate and vineyard management, and on the skills of the winemaker. It's commonly used as the main ingredient in Chianti.
