Syrah
This little beaut hails from the Rhone River Valley. Some of its headliners are Cote Rotie, Hermitage and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Its Australia it's know as Shiraz, but before accusing the Aussies of debasing the name, turns out it's actually returns to home base as a nod to the grape's origins in the ancient wine city of Shiraz, Iran. This pretty lady needs to be coaxed out of the bottle but once you give her a little time and space to breathe she can be the life of the party with a fine, complex character. It has the full-body and eau de perfume nose.
