Welcome to Burgundy, the international mecca of the wine-lover! Burgundy produces some of the most seductive and interesting wines found anywhere in the world. This regions, the spiritual home of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, is located east of Paris and extends from the Chablis district in the north, to Beaujolais in the south.

Burgundy can be one of the more frustrating and complicated regions to understand. Like Bordeaux its classification system where vineyards are graded depending on their quality; grand cru, premier cru, villages or vin du pays. However, unlike much of the winemaking world, the vineyards of Burgundy are often split up among a multitude of owners rather than being individually owned. Therefore while the reputation of the producer is always important, here it counts more than ever!
