Nestled above the snow capped mountains of Central Otago on the Bendigo Loop Road is the small Pinot Noir Vineyard "Someone’s Darling." Bright red fruits with a savory mushroom layer. Finishes with dark fruitiness.
Aged 8 months; a portion in stainless steel and a portion in oak to retain the pure intensity of the fruit.
The grapes were pumped straight to the tank without crushing in order to leave some whole berries. After a five-day cold soak, the must was warmed and fermentation was spontaneous. The ferment was hand plunged twice a day and pressed at dryness. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation in tank and was racked off to oak and stainless-steel storage.
Intense aroma of dark fruit, perfumed violet notes, forest floor and cloves and spices
Fleshy black plum, with layers of cherry and sweet berries that play on the palate and dance with hints of violet and savory notes.
