Malbec is a deep purplish-red, almost black-skinned grape. Its wines are characterized by inky-black coloring, soft or medium tannins, and smooth acidity. Malbec thrives in warm climates. Today, 70% of the world’s Malbec is planted in Argentina, where it is the country’s signature grape variety and wine varietal.
