The Heritage Heroes is a gourmet collection of handmade, ultra-premium wines, each individually named to honor a personality who has played a role in shaping Nederburg's history and reputation. The Young Airhawk pays tribute to Johann Graue’s son, Arnold. Graue senior, who bought Nederburg in 1937, played a key role in improving viticultural standards in South Africa. Fresh, crisp and zesty with a creamy texture.
Aging
The wine remained on the lees for 10 months and was stirred periodically to impart creaminess and complexity.
Fermentation
Bunches were destemmed and individually vinified according to each vineyard block. The juice was fermented in a combination of first- and second-fill 300 liter French oak barrels.
