The Terlato philosophy of pairing the finest grape varieties with the highest quality regions expands with the introduction of this Friulano from Friuli Colli Orientali. Friulano is the predominate indigenous grape varietal because of the ideal growing conditions to make luxury Friulano wines. This Friulano comes from very old vines, located on Estate vineyards at ~1,050 feet above sea level with cool nights and warm days, which is ideal for producing wines with excellent acidity and elegance. The floral aromas of the Friulano have distinct pear and almond notes. This wine has a creamy texture and a full body.
The wine is aged in the bottles for a few months before release at the winemakers discretion.
Some of the must undergoes malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels while the rest is fermented in stainless steel. The wine is left on the lees for 12 months with regular stirring before blended and bottled in September (~1 year from harvest).
